The issues dealt with in this blog concern the perennial questions of justice. Political parties and the media dominate the public debate about the crucial issues of our time.   The  justice system is shaped by political decisions which in turn reflect the views of newspaper editors.  Editors want to increase their readership and will adopt populist policies.  Since most people get their political knowledge from the media, it is extraordinarily difficult for an ordinary citizen to get a fundamental understanding of any issue. Each citizen  can make a contribution by thinking for themselves and expressing their views.I am a qualified barrister working in the public sector.  My career has spanned several sectors including energy, media, consulting and law.
